A month of events and initiatives to spend the holidays together

Christmas in Bari is with St. Nicholas, this is the theme that is inspired by all events and initiatives promoted by the municipal administration during the holiday period between December and January.

The billboard “Christmas in Bari is with St. Nicholas” focuses on the mingling of Santa Claus, the ruddy old man with the long white beard, the red dress edged with white fur, the black belt and hood, and the patron saint of Apulian capital, represented in classical iconography with the pastoral and the machine gun. For this reason, these two symbols are a strong graphic reference present in the concept of the unique program of events. Lower down, under the Christmas lights, the silhouettes of the Basilica and other buildings visually represent the spirit and identity of the city.

There are many events that will attract adults and children to the city guided by a magical path that winds through the village of Santa Claus set up in Piazza Umberto, the big tree in Piazza del Ferrarese, the markets on the wall and the main shopping streets. To the program organized by the municipal administration are added many initiatives and attractions by individuals and private companies, trade associations and traders. Also this year special attention has been dedicated to children who participate throughout the year in the activities promoted by the Welfare Department: the large house of Bari Social Christmas has been set up in Piazza Mercantile and from December 6 will propose to the city a series of daily events.
